#POWER OF SABR (PATIENCE) – ISLAM PEACE OF HEART

It is narrated on the authority of Aisha that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: Patience is the first thing that comes to mind.  It is narrated in an Hadith that, On of  person said to the Messenger of Allah, O the Messenger Of Allah! my condition went away and my body became ill. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: There is no good in this slave, Whose wealth does not go And the body does not get sick. 

When Allah loves a person, He tests him And when he is put to the test, he gives patience. It is narrated in another Hadith, The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, There is a degree for man in the sight of Allah which he cannot reach by his deeds. Even if he is not subjected to any physical appearance then he reaches this level.

It is narrated in the hadith that when a verse was revealed, Abu Bakr said to the Messenger of Allah. Ya Rasool Allah! How will there be prosperity after this verse? The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “Abu Bakr, may Allah forgive you. Would you not be ill?” Doesn’t trouble come to you? Are you not patient? Aren’t you upset? It is just a recompense for your sins. What is meant is that whatever misery befalls you becomes the expiation for your sin.

Types Of Sabr (Patience):

Three types of patience.

1. Patience for the sake of Allah Patience for the sake of obeying the command of Allah, Patience in whatever affliction befalls him in obedience to Allah’s command and obedience. 

2. Be patient with the corpse of Allah. The decisions and rulings of your omnipotent Allah are ongoing, Be patient with those who are afflicted with severe calamities.

3. Be patient with God’s promises. Allah has promised to provide sustenance, fulfill the need, help and reward in the Hereafter Be patient. 

Some people say that there are two types of patience:

1. Patience in the things that the servant has the right to do or not to do.

2. Patience in these matters does not interfere with the servant.

There are two types of first type. Patience on the command and patience on the side of Allah. The second type of affairs in which the servant has no say is as follows: Do not be discouraged and disobedient to endure the heart’s or physical pain and suffering for the sake of enduring the divine command and judgment of God. Some people say that there are three people who are patient. One is patient with suffering, the other is patient, and the third is very patient.

It is said that a man stood up and said to Shibli, “Which patience is the hardest for the patient?” He said, “Be patient in the way of Allah.” He said no, He said to be patient for the sake of Allah? He said no, Be patient while observing Allah’s kinship. Shibli screamed and his soul was about to depart.

Junaid said: It is easy for a believer to move from this world to the hereafter, and it is difficult to leave the creatures in the way of God. When he was asked about patience, he said to take a sip of bitter thing without spoiling his mouth. Ali ibn Abi Talib said: Patience is related to faith in the same way as head to body. It is said that this hadith is valid. Zunoon Misri said, “Patience is to stay away from the undesirable things of Allah and to take a sip of the sorrows of misfortune And yet the hardship is a manifestation of the need for livelihood.”

Some people have said that patience is the name of enduring misfortune, but it has been said that patience is the key to success. Some have said that in the presence of well-being, the heart is at peace In the same way, in a state of positivity, the heart stops with good vigor and patience.

It has also been said that the best reward for worship is patience. There is no greater reward. Allah said, “We will give the best reward to those who are patient.” (Surah Naml verse 97)

Allah said that those who are patient will be given full reward without any reckoning. (Surah Zimar Verse 10) 

Some said to be patient, to be steadfast in the corpse of Allah and to welcome the sorrows of the positive sent by Him with joy and generosity. Khawas said that patience means to adhere to the rules of the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah. Yahya bin Muaz Razi said, that the patience of the lovers is stronger than that of the Zahids. It is amazing how they are patient.

Some said patience is to give up complaints. Some have said that to humble oneself before God and to seek refuge in Him is patience. Some said that patience means asking Allah for help and some said that patience is one of the names of Allah.

It has been said that patience is the difference between a blessing and a positive one. To be patient means to be calm in the face of adversity.
